Hello,
a while back I bought a group of wildcaught hystrix. I lost 3 of the 7 in the first week I had them. In the meantime we are 1,5 months further down the road and everything seemed to be going fine with the remaining hystrix untill this evenening.

I noticed earlier today that a female wasn't feeling really well. Not active and darker than the rest. She was buried in the sand though.

When I looked in the tank again about an hour ago, I noticed that her disc started curling. So I immediately prepared another tank for her to keep her apart from the rest. This failed miserably as when I put her over she curled so bad that the disc sides almost touched each other. I put her back immediately in the tank she was in in the first instance and it looks a bit better now, but still curled.

While I was moving her I noticed that she has some infection. When she was still active 2 days back, I didn't notice it.

here are some photo's of when I moved her. Can anyone identify this and advise me what to do?

This really sucks as I have a load more potamotrygons and I have no problem with them. Since day 1 I got this group it has been trouble with these. So I am beginning to wonder what I am doing wrong

Is there any other fish in with the Hystrix, those grey areas with the blood look like physical damage to me,biting or constant sucking etc.

what is ur waterchange schedule like?

i just had a similar prob.. turns out i was doing too many waterchanges..

i had a few that started to curl rely bad. i salted and they got better real fast.

also how thick is your sand? maybe not getting stirred enough...

All the readings are completely normal and the water is pristine. Just double checked them all again.

No ammonia, nitrite or nitrate. PH is at a steady 7.0. I do weekly water changes like I do with all my other tanks
