They look pretty neat and are really compact. I had been seeing them online for a bit but got to hold a lightweight model yesterday. Seems like it would be a neat toy.

What is that a drain cleaner?

lol
The coil supposedly allows the short rod to have the strength or flexibilty of a full size rod. The heavier models have more coils.

looks gimicky

Held one once. Didn't push my buttons, Might be nice for those ice fishing types

No the one I held had some strength to it but still enough flexibility to whip lures out pretty good. If they were cheaper I'd give one a shot just to have a compact setup for neighborhood fishing.

I have one posted about it yr ago. Its not exact model you have in pic. Will take pic of it when I get home.

Its well made and can hold good size fish but sucks for reeling in fish by weeds, etc as you simply don't have the rod length to avoid getting caught in them.

I have caught good size PB on them it worked well. I prefer longer pole but it does work and got one for my father in law who fishes off a boat and for smaller fish he likes it. It does set hook in well as the spring coil rod bends but for long casting and reeling in which is how I used it for PB its a pain.
For baited hooks with floaters its great.

Casting with a longer pole is way easier because to get the slingshot type cast you need with these takes awhile to get hang of and even than longer rod is simply better.

Its not some cheap made junk but again due to its size your limited.
