i just upgraded my 10g to a 30g tall. now i need to upgrade my lighting since my plants are much further away. i can get a coralife 36" fixture for $40, problem is that its a 24" tank. could i just remove the internals, cut the housing and rewire? or would i be better off just getting the ah supply 2x36 and calling it a day. thanksalright heres some picts. he and the dark one eyed female could be parents to all these yellow fish, as i was told, but theres one that seems just a bit more orange/darker than the rest. plus his head looks to be rounder then some of his "brothers" what do you think?

on my tank i just bought a light fixture from lowes that was the correct wattage and took it apart and mounted the sockets the correct distance apart the hood i built and ran the wires to the back and mounted the ballast on the back of the hood, building the hood was cheaper than just buying the aquarium fixture and has all the correct wattage.
