anyone that can help with my new API canister xl filter for my 150 gallon?

I got not a new filter the canister api xl for 250 gallons the output either puts out too much water splashes all over this is for my 125 gallon tank. BUt here is the thing when i put the output underwater the whole system made a loud noise and shut down !! anyone help me?

Most like something with the impeller. Give the safe a wiggle and try to start it back up

sometimes it gets caught with bubbles tho?

Mine does that sometimes to. I just pull the top off and let it try to re prime the canister. Is this a brand new canister filter?

Is this filter installed on an aquarium or a stock tank/tub?

Can you post a pic of the filter and tank together?

I have one that is installed in a 6 foot long tank the other is in a stock tank which is on the ground.

I think they run fine just sometimes when i do a water change it will stop running and be hard to start up again. THEY are just so TOUCHY

I spent over 600 on them both because i was told they really are the best filter we can have for large set ups. I HOPE I did the right thing

SOmetimes i still get bacteria blooms though.
