hay all,

im wanting to experiment with a few fish to see if i can get them to grow super fast,

Fish to exeriment with.
1 black convict (1cm)
1 blue convict (1cm)
1 texas (1cm)
1 very small cichlid (random) (5mm)

Equipment
2.5ft x 18"h x 18"w Tank
Fluval 3 filter (tall one very powerfull for a 2.5ft tank)
The tank is full of Ocean Rock right now but i might remove it so they can eat easier without it disapearing into the rocks
Temps upto 86 right now, should this be higher ??

Water changes each week

Food (all fruit will be tried to see what the fish eat)
Cichlid sticks
Flake
Cucumber
Butternut Squash
Lettece
Spinich
Chopped prawn

Any other suggestions here that i might have missed im just looking to power grow 4 fish to see how they work out, im not intentionally looking to hurt the fish but i have chosen the 4 smallest out of my main tank to experement with.

Feed several times a day with small feedings. I feed my juvi's 3 times a day and their growing great. 86 is about the highest I wold take it, they will grow plenty fast with high temps. like that. Keep us posted. I really want to know how this works out. To see how much faster they grow and if any health concerns pop up. :)

faster metabolism=faster growth=faster lifecycle.

Just because the fish appears to die from "normal causes" 75% through it's normal lifespan doesn't mean it was natural. I would recommend not powerfeeding, it's unhealthy in the long run.

Water changes, water changes, and water changes. If you keep track of all the variables, I think you will find volume and frequency of water changes to be the single greatest factor. Many discus breeders do daily 50% water changes, and some in southeast asia dont even have filters, they do a 100% water change every day.
