I have a spare pair of Oakley sunglasses at the house with lenses that are scratched. I want to get some polarized replacements because I've recently started fishing but Oakley's are $100 just for the lenses. I found a company called Samvette that makes replacements and they are $25 for polarized lenses. Has anyone used their lenses before? I'm sure they aren't Oakley quality but are they good?

What do you mean?

droppin 100 dollars on sunglasses just blows my mind. i don't mind splurge on some things like shoes or jeans but shades?

lol, anyways, sorry for the derail but you got a few bumps

this makes no sense at all...

the higher end spectrum of sunglasses is more expensive than that of jeans and shoes.

that's debateable but regardless the point was i don't understand why ANYONE spends so much on shades...they're suppose to be functional, not a fashion accessory, are you girls now needing the latest fashion shades?

haha, and shoes are supposed to be functional, just something to cover your feet, and jeans are just supposed to cover you legs and "parts" not fashionable. haha, i kid, but really, it's a matter of where one chooses to allocate their resources. I mean, how many people think us MFKrs are crazy for the amount of money we drop of fish?

ANYWAY, i've never heard of samvette but I do have a pair of Oakley halfjackets so i'll be check samvette out. do they make the lenses specifically for oakleys?

this thread IS about function. polarized lenses are expensive....used for reducing glare...seeing through water surface. prescription sunglasses aren't cheap either. or shades for sports...you get what you pay for.
