id love to do a few pbass in my 300 but ive heard they dont go well with scombs. can anyone verify this? the pbass i was thinking of getting are 4-5". probably 12" within 1 year.

stock.
3-6" scombs
1-6" cigar fish
1-4" upside down cat
3-5" redtail sharks
1-16" silver arow.
2-7" retic rays.

depends on the particular species of Pbass and down to the individual fish. The scombs wont mess with the Pbass, they are really docile and prefer to keep to cover.

Pbass on the other hand, do bully other fish, and grow much faster than scombs. Might stress the scomb out. Payara give the phrase "scared to death" true meaning.

If your tank's big enough and have both open and covered areas, don't see an issue as long as the two fish's sizes are comparable. a pbass almost twice the size of a scomb might be pushing it.

in relation to some of your other fish, can't comment except the arrowana should be ok.

i put a scomb with my pbass tat were smaller and it worked for awhile but then the pbass beated up on it and it died....wudnt try it

i plan to try this with my hybrid pbass, orino, 3 raphs and a scomb...now i have the bass in with a ck, fl gar, 5 retic rays and a bgk...the bass fought with the jar, but it was a back and forth deal

Thanks madness. Kinda what I figured I think in the long run I'd be pushing it. It would probably work out if it was just the rays and arow. Not worth the risk with all the others. I'd love to find some redtailed tats. Could do some discus but I don't know much about them except they like high temps. I'm mainly looking to add some nice color to the tank

I think it might work with an armatus if it was 12" + I don't think I'm going to try it. I love my scombs and they are very happy with their tankmates right now. I'm sure a few clown loaches or discus would be harmless. Even tats

the armatus would eat some of your other fish. tat's i havent had much luck keeping alive in mixed cohabs. Pbass have nice color. so do red hook snooks. both get nice and big

I wasn't thinking of adding a armatus. I was just saying that a armatus that was large enough might work with pbass.

right, sorry.
oh yea it might, always a risk, all about tank size. if tanks big enough, can get away with anything. I'll try it later. in this case, i'd say the risk is on the pbass's eyes.
