Anyone try squidding?

That sounds interesting, I wonder if you can do it down here.

Post pix when you catch some!

I've fished for Humbolts out here and the small ones for bait when they're around. The large Humbolts will really give you and your tackle a work out!

I'm giving it a shot this winter. Going to go squidding in Puget Sound. Calamari for me and my fish friends...

Went on Sunday, saw a few, didn't see anyone actually catch any though.

I've done it before but usually good to go late at night and there needs to be someone with a generator and a bright spot light facing the water to attract the squid. But I'm starting to see squid jigs these days with some blinking LEDs on them. Those might work.

only thing I hate about squiding is it's so Effin' cold outside!!!!

From what I've read night is the time to go, right around high tide.

I'm going to be going off the Redondo pier, which is lighted. When I was there last week there were some old Asians who had some battery operated halogen lights, didn't seem to help them much.
