anyone use a nitrate reactor

im thinking of buying a nitrate reactor does anyone use one and what do i need to know

im looking at

the aquamedic NR1000 or the TMC schran which is more evpencive

aquamedic = £175 ($290)
TMC SCHRAN = £275 ($490)

i know i will still need to do lots of water changes but do they work

if you're wanting to reduce nitrates,and i'm not familiar with either of those products, and they are a sort of "tower" filled with bio media, yes , they work, BUT, they work so slowly that if you're keeping monsters who eat a whole lot, they'll never keep up. better off with a refugium. full of fast growing plants, (fresh) or mangroves and macro algae (salt)

you cant keep plants in a ray tank

the one im looking at can take care of a 3000L tank so thats 3 times bigger than what i need but i dont know anyone eho is useing one

the are filled with sulphur balls and work on a drip systerm
