Sorry if this isnt in the right section. Just looking to see first hand the success rate of this product. Iv heard mixed reviews among us fish keepers. Some say it works wonders, others say it's had no effect.

Hard to say for certain if it worked to great effect but my GT was doing a lot of rubbing himself on things so I decided to dose with this and he stopped doing it on the second day. Haven't seen him rub at all since. I've been keeping the water pristine so this evidence is anecdotal IMO.

Well iv been treating with this for ich at a half dose for my catfish. I havnt seen any kind of reaction from the fish and symptoms dont appear to be improving. Debating on going with a full dose or not. Iv also been told I can and I cant use salt alongside the paraguard.

I have used paraguard many times in the past, but only for preventative treatment while I quarantine delicate fish (altums for example). I have also used the paraguard/polyguard combo. I have not seen any fish come out of that treatment with pathogens (and these are segrest fish), but I haven't used it to fight a specific infection before. You can dose salt no problem. Think of it as similar to QuickCure, but with a different aldehyde than formaldehyde. Still, try not to get it on you because it also contains some carcinogens.

Ok great. I went with a full dose of paraguard last night and maintaining a half dose of salt for my tank. Will continue with this procedure and see what happens, so I will do another dose of paraguard when im home from work.

I use it in my feeder tank.

Is this the jag catfish u purchased? I'm just going off of memory. If so, I treated mine with salt and 3/4 of meds due to some other fish I got. The cat tolerated well and doing fine.

Yes it is the newly purchased cats im treating. Promising reaults so far. Both cats are completly free of white spots! Both cats ate carnivore pellets last night as well, so thats very good as i havnt been able to get one of the two to eat at all. The pleco is still coverd in spots so i removed it to a 10gal just to help the main tank by reducing some spores/eggs. Will continue treating both until im at 30days of treatment. Iv been thinking for the cats, maintaining the half dose of salt fpr the rest of the treatment duration, and cutting the paraguard treatments in half to everyother day, or possibly just lowering the dosage.
