I was looking into the 4800 series flows 3800gph @ 5' head and 250 watts. Seems like pretty good flow and wattage doesn't seem that bad. Couldn't find anyreviews on them

I use two Hy-Drive 4000's,one which also is split and goes into my bioreactor. I have this setup on my 535 gal. ray tank, and yes for the GPH you get...can't beat 200 watts! Oh Yea! these pumps keep the water right at the temp. that i need it to be,pretty sure my heaters have never come on-that will save you a lot on your power bill.

Good Luck!

The 4800 has reasonably good efficiency; not as high as some external pumps, but for a submersible it seems better than most.

The 6000 model is 675 watts, which is pretty pathetic. The max head is a lot higher though.
