I have black sand and it drives me crazy to see poop build up, not that my tank is way over stocked it is just a pet peeve. So that means I've been doing more water changes then I would like to be doing. Would prefer to go back down to two water changes per week. That's where the Eheim Sludge Extractor would come in. Figure if I can just hover it above the poop and vacuum it up then I could have the best of both worlds.

Problem being is that I really don't trust a lot of review sites out there so hoping some of my MFK peoples could chime in.

The vacuum thing? Doesn't work well with sand IME. I would spend the money on a nice koralia evo powerhead to increase current along the surface of the sand to sweep to poo into the water column so your mech filtration can catch it. ;)

I concur, poo build up over the course of a week was reduced by 60% since I bought my koralias

I'm a bit lazy and don't feel like taking a pic, but I can find one on google...

They just stick on your glass with a magnet that sits on the outside of your tank. Very very energy efficient, you can put them in a ton of different positions in your tank, but the basic idea is you want it pointed slightly down towards your substrate and blowing towards your filter intake.

They come in a few different sizes, if you tell me your tank size and dimensions I can recommend a model for you. :)

I have 2 koralia 1050s on my 125. Right now they are both on the side glass pushing everything to the other end. For some reason my phone won't uploads photos, I'll try to remember to take some Friday.

heres a pic of the koralias and a pic of my sand after 6 days since the last vac/wc
