I have been searching for some eggcrate for ages in the uk but to no luck then i thought maybe Perspex if i drilled loads of small holes in it,

my plan is to turn a 4' tank into 4 seperate 12" sections and use perspex as the seperator

this is for breeding convicts,

i plan on using 1 canister filter (eheim 2026) that will point through the holes, and the sucking in pipe at the end,

right now i have no idea if this will work or even poison my fish so does anyone know if perspex is ok to use with fish ?

thanks :D:headbang2

Should work , but have you tried looking at specailist pond shops ?, they normally have EggCrate ( well the couple of Pond shops i go too do , they sell it in the filter section ) .

or maybe the internet like Ebay could have it . But the drilled prespex should work as long as the holes are large enough to let the water though correctly .

They sell "Egg Crate" both Lowes and Home Depot, it is call Florescent light diffuser panels.

im not entirely sure depot or lowes is in England

It's also used in air conditioner ducting, so it's worth calling some aircon places too.

I found it at my LFS, but it was too expensive.

I coudn't get egg crate at a reasonable price in Australia so I got a pair of cutlery drying trays and used them instead. They looked like this:

I have them upside down and I've cut a lot out of the vertical dividers so that water can flow around freely.

I used the bottom of a plastic delivery tote from the local gas station. The kind with the interlocking lids. The bottoms are perforated like milk crates.
