I'm strongly considering throwing my pair of 13" Henlei rays in a 300 gallon (roughly 5'x5'x2') Rubbermaid stock tank for the summer. They're currently in a 180 gallon (6'x2'x2') tank now. Since they'll be outside under the covered patio, I plan on covering most of the enclosure to keep evaporation down. Netting will also be in place to keep potential predators out. The thing only costs $200 new. Anyone already have this setup? Thoughts?

They do work pretty well, but if you're putting it outside during the summer make sure you keep an eye on the temp. You might need a chiller and I would shade it.

Bud you might want to change your location.
Rays arent exactly legal in The Great State of Texas

If I had rays thats what I would keep them in. The only problem with those is that sometimes, after some use the drain on the bottom side may start to leak.

Ive used those for years work great!! easy cleaning. and drill anywhere you want. and patch it very easy if you change filter setups. never seen the drain leak. I have 3 of them now. great ponds for cheap!

mmm throw your rays in this tub what about filteration
