I just kind of found out about these guy. I may be interested, so I
had some questions about them. First off, I hope that this is the right forum for this. I searched for them, and came up with very little.

1.They don't get huge, right? Only like 8" max?
2.Are they aggressive, or just big-mouthed eaters?
3.Would they get along with datnoids?
4.Are they fast or slow growers?
5.Do they need live food, or can they be trained to take something else?
6. Do they have another name besides " Gangetic leaffish" so I can better research them?
7.Are they sensitive, or hardy?
8.Are they more active or inactive?
9.Do they look like the picture in the link I posted? :)

Thanks a ton for any info and/or help!

Have kept them for a short period...

1. They don't get bigger than 8".
2. Not aggressive.. But have a big mouth.
3. Yes they should be ok with dats
4. Dont know about the growth rate.
5. They can be trainned off live, but if fed mine frozen bloodworms
6. Not sure about the other names of them.
7. They are def not sensitive, but not sure how hardy they are.
8. Dont swim around much.
9. Yes..

All the best...

Oh, also, on Tropical fish Distributor's website they call it a "marble datnoid" for some reason, even though the scientific name they have is Nandus Nandus.

Thats because Datnoids are popular, and only becoming more popular lately. So they will try and throw that Datnoid name on any fish they can, to boost sales.

I've been looking for a nandus for a while, when ever I ask around people dont even know what I am talking about lol...

They do look like they can be related to the Dats with their body shape, they are a very shy fish and they wont do too much swimming around, mine does not even chase the feeders but waits until one swims past his mouth then sucks it in.The picture in the link is some type of Lates perch imo does not look like a Nandus ,with all this interest I would sell mine if one of you guys were close enough because it is boring me to ribbons rotflmao .

Growth rate is slow to non existant. I've had 1 for almost 3 years now.....It's maybe grown an inch.

These fish are a poor choice for a community tank unless all tankmates stay small. Cause these are seriously the slowest growers of ANY fish I have ever kept.

if all you ate was gold fish you wouldnt grow as well :D

Keep a look out for "asian leaf fish". That's the trade name for em around here. They're pretty common.
