Hey I was wondering if there is anyone remotely close to Houghton Lake Michigan who has a large 'Native' tank or mid-large size tank period that is a pretty serious setup?

If there is anyone would you be willing to show me your set up and explain some stuff/everything to me... :screwy:

I've never really had a really nice setup just an average setup which was a 55 gallon with 1 fish and two of the hang on the back filters.

Right now I just have a temporary 10 gallon with two smaller fish and two HOB filters, which dont seem to be doing the job.

Planning on doing at least a 55gal for maybe 4 fish total but seriously need so much explained to me about everything I'd probably die of old age before I could search and read it all.

In the 10 gallon I have not added any substrate/rocks or any sort of decoration, it's just a tank 2 fish and 2 filters and I've been doing 25-30% water changes and it sort of helps for a minute but it stays cloudy.

I am thinking it may be my tap water (well water right by the lake).

I know one of the filters is a 10-20gal the other is smaller so I would say 5-10gal do you think I just dont have enough filtration?

We are going to be moving and I would like to get a nice aquarium setup in the new place.

Any and all help is welcome..

Ok, I have a few questions for you. What kind of fish are they? How long has it been set up? Is it near a window? And welcome to MFK.

I have a Sunfish 4"-ish and a Creek Chub 5.5"-ish.

The water was in the tank for about 1 wk, then added fish, water was clear for 1wk, had some snails die pulled them all even the live ones and have done a 50% water change and a 25% and a 20%.

No not really, it is near a small window but off to the side where the sunlight doesnt hit it at all.

Sounds to me like the tank wasnt cycled yet. That might be why the water is cloudy. I think you have plenty of filtration for now. Do you know what kind of sunfish it is?
