How long could a 4"-5" sterlet go without eating? Mine is on blackworms, and will not eat anything else whatsoever. A couple of weeks back I tried to starve it, and my resolve broke after 3 days because it seemed to be getting very skinny very fast. Either that, or the scutes on the body made it seem more skinny than it actually was (kinda like when you see really skinny people's hip bones stick out).

I've read some reports that feeding exclusively blackworms can cause impactions and death, so I want to get it onto Sterlet Sticks. What should I do? I've tried raw shrimp and octopus, and it would grab them with its mouth, then spit them back out. Same with the sinking pellets.

Not for very long buddy. Keep feeding the worms or you'll end up with a computer ornament like mine.

Ah, that's terrible. Should I wait until it hits a foot? I'm just scared of impaction killing it.

Starvation?.......Impaction?
Do you have a choice? Keep feeding till it decides to take something else. I had mine with hifin sharks which sturred the feeding frenzy. It's not till I put it in the pond that it didn't have enough to eat.
