Hoplosternum littorale. has anyone ever heard of them? i saw one in the local wallyworld so i picked one up cause mom loved the way they looked. does anyone have any info on them?

This is probably the second longest of the bubblenest armoured cats,second only to the flatter but longer Calichthys calichthys....think thats how its spelt.We caught loads of these in Brasil last year,they are a major food fish,they had mountains of them stacked in huge baskets in the fish market in Belem.This species like all the other members of the genus are peaceful scavengers,this is a bulky species attaining 8inches in length,unfortunately its a uniform brown....interesting scalation never the less.
