Okay, so my paludarium is come down with a bout of hair algae, so i'm just wondering, is there any type of snail that specializes in eating this type of algae?

As long as its not something like an apple snail that would eat all my plants, i'm open to opinions...

Otherwise, any really small fish that might do the job?

Sry u went this long without a single responce. I just got back into this section. Amano shrimp will devistate hair algae. Iv been meaning to get a couple for my planted tank, as my sulawesi and nerites wont touch the stuff sadly. So for a snail, which is what u want, I dont believe any will eat it.

Thanks for the response, so you reckon amano shrimp will work? well i guess i could always put one or two in a tank to see what happens?

I had mystery snails before, and they didn't work... just going to give the amano shrimp a try next, as snails don't seem to cut it, and don't want to add more fish to my paludarium...

Rachel has before and after pics of hair algae with amanos. They work

Let me know if you have any success Homer, I'm looking for a non chemical way of getting rid of it myself

Definitely will let you know how it goes, just haven't had time to go out and go shopping lately as i've been in China...
