anything or way to remove calcium from the water??

hey guys i just got a new tank i don't want hard calcium to make it look bad like my ol tank. i always use cold water. alfer a few weeks white bits of calcium begin to biuld up on the tank, filter and heater. is there any fish friendly chemical i can use to dissolve these chemical like alot of you MFK's use (If i'm right). I want my tank to be in mint condition for a long time. Is the reason why alot of you MFK's hhave calcium free tank is beacuse you guys use solf water?? IDK. i you guys give me advice???

To remove hard water deposits in an empty tank you can use vinegar. Soak a paper towel in it, wipe on deposit and let sit for 30 seconds. Then either wipe it off or scrape it with an old credit card. Repeat until deposits are gone.

If you want to reduce the formation of deposits the only way to really do that is to get RO/DI water either from a bottle or by purchasing a unit.

I use Seachem Neutral Regulator for chlorine removal and it's description says- It softens water by precipitating calcium and magnesium while removing any chlorine, chloramine, or ammonia.
I assume the calcium goes to the bottom...
