well this month im moving on the 2nd floor of my new apartment building, and i wanted to start a ray tank.I have wooden floors, and was wondering whats the biggest tank i should have for a a single motoro ray. Ive done some decent time of research on them, and understand that i need sand as a subtrate, and some powerful filters, also what else makes a good ray tankmate.

I dont think its going to happen...
To keep a ray for life you are going to need at least an 8x3x2 ft tank which adds up to around 375 gallons which weighs over 2250 lbs

hmm i think you really need to talk to your landlord before asking on mfk....

i would talk to the landlord first........because that is alot of weight to be on the 2nd floor with wooden floors....its about 1.125 tons fully loaded

i've got a 150 on the third floor, non load bearing wall. kinda risky but it's worked since jan 4.

Sucks to be the people living under you :) If it is built to code in most places it should handle a 150 but I would not go any bigger
