Anybody ever try this product? It seems like it might be high quality stuff. But looks can be deceiving. Anyone have a review they can share?

Never tried them before. Their whole thing is sustainability in not using fish meal, krill meal, etc that is derived from fish caught in wild fisheries in an effort to help conserve wild populations in the world's oceans. Heard good things about their food but haven't tried them.

I like their goal to create high quality fish food without contributing to the depletion of the fauna in our oceans. If conservation is something you strive to be a part of, go for it and try it out. If you don't really care about the depletion of ocean resources, you could still try them just to see how it goes.

From the looks of their ingredient list, their goal seems to be one of reducing the costs spent on their raw ingredients, increasing their bottom line, and using the green card as part of an ongoing PR campaign. The reality is that fish meal in general has gone up in price every year for the past several years, and many manufacturers are attempting to use less & less as costs rise.

Other than a few exotic ingredients such as honey, vanilla extract, and banana meal, their food likes like the rest of the fluff foods that have been on the market for the past 50 years. Wheat as the main ingredient in any fish food = a big fail for me.

^ I have to agree with you on this one. I'm not buying the hype, more fish scented corn flakes.

RD, whats your opinion on Wheat-based winter koi foods? Lots of koi experts use it, but you just stated anything based on wheat is a fail, so I'd like to hear your opinion.

(I don't use winter food at all)

Thanks for the input, guys. Lesson learned? Ask the question BEFORE you buy (albeit, I was out, and didn't expect them to be out of Hikari).

Order to Ken going in.
