It won't kill all my BB, will it?
My QT tank already has newly received fish in there.
I've found differing web info on this. some posts say it "can" kill BB, but API does not indicate that it kills BB.
I see many people have dosed their main tanks and said nothing about BB dying off afterwards.
Also, are lower temps safer with this stuff? the tank is usually about 79.

It's a texas/carpintis female alone in a 75G. this is the 2nd time it looks like fungus has popped up along straight lines on her side. there's nothing at all on fins, they're perfect.
the 1st time I spot treated with peroxide, it went away & healed. So this time I dosed her whole tank with Fungus Cure.
also added salt as directions recommend.

ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrates don't get over about 25 with weekly changes of 50% or more.
ph 7.8

Both Malachite Green and Acriflavin which are the ingredients in FC are not effective against gram positive bacterial infections (Methylene Blue is, and is very hard in BB and should be used in a bath for this reason). API Fungus Cure is NOT hard on nitrifying bacteria so it is safe to use in the tank. As far as temperature goes it's not an issue you can use it in your tank with no adverse side effects from temperature. Malachite green does however become more toxic at lower Ph levels and should not be used without buffering in low Ph and soft water tanks ie Amazon blackwater type set ups or on sensative fish. For your tank it's perfect. Use it, it's safe.

Thanks, Tom.
I guess a horrible dark radioactive green tank is API's idea of "a slight discoloration of water".
wish I'd bought something different for my arsenal, I have a lot of this crap. is there another good fungus med? but this also treats secondary bacterial infections from fungus.
Also, I'm guessing that if this something more is needed after this course of treatment, Triple Sulpha is best. but I am real allergic to sulpha drugs, so if there's an equally good alternative please let me know.

thanks for helping, & Merry Christmas to you!

With a Ph of 7.8 3x would work well. The FC should get the job done however. Merry Christmmas to you too.
