ok so today is day 3 of the fish tank setup and day 2 of texas cihlid fish living in it, i tested my tank and these were the results

ph-7.6
ammonia-0.25
nitrite-0.25
nitrate-5.0

are these numbers any good? i really need to know im an amatuer thank you god bless.

have you had the ammonia spikes already? Well if not, not yet. Well you could just seat for a week and just ignore the tank first... then test it again, daily testing would be a hassle.
ammonia would be good at 0
nitrite - 0
nitrate like 5-15ppm
the lower the number of ammonia/nitrite/nitrate the better.
well for ph just make it stable as consistent as possible. Depends on the fish also, and the decors such as driftwood as it can drop the ph.

Don't add any decors without researching for them as if may be rocks, or driftwood, and don't overfeed, as build up waste may be a way for a unstable ph. Keeping a good water chemistry would be a job for your water changes, filtration, and the waste/food accumulated by the tank.

ok so ill wait a week and then test it again but its good for now right? and how do you keep the ph consistint?

it's improving. =) Had the same when I was first cycling. Everyday checking out, waterchanges, Iv'e read someone's signature, forgot the name tho. In this hobby, "things that happens fast are mostly bad, and those which are slow and require patience would be beneficial".

Keep it cool. Here have some pill.:chillpill: haha. I've read your thread somewhere what will you be stocking that tank with? I mean would you replace those texas cichlids?

lol ok yeah the tank only has 2 rocks in it how often should i feed him a day i have tropical flakes? also i think ima put cichlids like jack demsey, green terror etc.. and a pleco and no i think im gonna keep my texas cichlid he has cool personality
