Hi guys, set my 350g up and I've put half old water in and seeded the new sump with bb from my other tanks, and also put a big mature sponge filter in from my other tank,I bought some api stress zyme+ (biological filter booster) it says, and was going to put that in too but was worried it will clear out all the nitrates, nitrites, ammonia you get when cycling or will it help?
The tank has been running a week so far.

I know its only been an hour but anybody?
I need to cycle it ASAP,every day counts lol

if you want something that works get 5 bottles of tetra safestart from petsmart and add it to a tanks of conditioned water and set the ammonia to about 1.5-2.0ppm, add a little ammonia if needed to keep the levels around 1ppm. When you see the nitrites peak and go away, see nitrates and the ammonia gets consumed quickly you are cycled. Should take 2 weeks or less. You could try seachem stability, it is cheaper but safestart is better IMO.

Thanks for the reply bud but I've already bought the stress zyme but got a bit confused and doubtful when I read the label,I don't know if it makes it perfect for the fish by removing the nitrates etc or just seeds the filter.

with the active sponge and sump you were already set as long as you didn't significantly increase the bio load.

Just a note, it only works when there are fish in the tank as well. Putting it in an empty tank will not accomplish anything.

Hi guys, thanks for the replies Gill blue, the sump wasn't mature,I just put some bb in and the sand and the water, and I've just put 3 tinfoils in so do you recommend me putting it in then davdev, its been so long since I did one lol.
