is it just me, or is it stinkin hard to match the color of the vile with the test card?

Set the vial on the card outside, the natural light will help you distinguish. Or you can do like I do and measure in close enough, -ish, and holy crap that's way off!

I hold mine up to a white wall with very little lighting. Hold the card right next to the vial.

Yep like they said, put it up to a white light and measure it.

I find it to be very accurate.

No complaints on my end.

ok, so found this comment on another site....what do you think?

Most aquarium test kits measure total ionic nitrate which is 4.4 times higher than nitrogen-nitrate (the bad stuff). EPA limits in drinking water of nitrogen-nitrate is 10ppm which would test out at about 40 ppm with an API nitrate test, so you are ok.

i agree, if you have it at a wrong angle to the light etc it can be hard to see properly , but i do like API nonetheless.
