API XP FILTER SOS making WORST NOISE

hey i need some help my xp canister filter the largest one i believe after a few months started making this noise

I cleaned it changed the media again! after a month! I made sure the media was not to full i made sure the pipe was clean i made sure it was spic and span! what could be doing this? I dont get it ! ihad to take it downstairs it was driiving me nuts@ Has anyone had this issues?


ALso i bought 2 of them for 500 and neither of them produce the output they did when i first got them!

Sounds like your impeller is shot. I recommend a new impeller and inspect the impeller housing for scar marks. In general I love my xp3 until it makes a grinding noise.

If you flip the impeller shaft it will stop for a bit but you do need a new impeller

There is the chrome shaft in the center of the impeller pull it out and flip it. It worked for mine but it might have just been a fluke. Yes you want ti fill the filter with water before you start it up and fill up the intake side with water

Hey now renas are a really good filter for the price and hold alot of media

this is partially true. Eheim with prime button will eventually leak. Classic Eheim is the way to go
