what are the tips and tricks to getting apisto's to spawn?? im pretty sure i have a pair, but don't seem to show any interest with each other. they don't chase each other away, and they look like a male and a female... but they have been in my tank for about a month now and have not done too much... ph is 7.0 temp is like 80-82. they have lots of hiding places & lots of plants. let me know what im doing wrong.

the pH is a little high, I normally shoot for 6.5 I would also start feeding live foods and for me Daphnia worked wonders.

Water changes with a sightly colder water works when they start to show breeding colors.

cool ill have to try the live food and wait till they color up! been trying to get the ph down over the last week, dont wanna drop it fast. thanks for the tips! after watching them for the 4 weeks ive had them i really think i have two of the same sex. but i wont give up!

Yeah my water here sucks! out of the tap oh is 8.6+, kh 80, gh..... Well let's just say it makes dimonda look soft! Going to try and get like a 40g set up to get the ph and stuff spot on for water changes
