It can work but if 2 paired off the one will be constantly harrassed by the pair. I've kept them in a 20 long the dimensions are better imo. Also suggest 1 pair or a group 3 female to 1 male ratio. The species I've had were Triple Red Apistogramma and Orange Flash.

tlindsey I replied right before your’s came through. Thanks for the info. Would 2 females and 1 male be ok in a 15 due to the smaller dimensions compared to the 20?

Do 3 females and 1 male. I had driftwood tree branches and leaf litter in the 20 long to give them somewhere to stay out of sight if necessary. Apistogramma are like Convicts in behavior when they are protecting eggs, wriggler's, or fry lol.

Btw the Neons will help I had Browntail Pencilfish as dithers.
