Aponogeton bulbs grew sacs? Wha??

So I got 6 aponogeton bulbs from Wal-Mart and yesterday threw them in my tank to grow while it's still cycling with no fish.

Today I see that every bulb developed some kind of "yolk sac" around it. It's so weird. At first it looked to me like fungus but upon closer inspection it seems like they're just sacs. I touched one and it was mucous-like, it let me pull on the sac and stretch it. I added a picture but you can barely see them (cell phone pic plus they're transparent).

What is that?!? A quick search on this forum and google didn't produce any results.

Ehh... actually now I did find out what it was. Seems like quite a few people experience this. It's some kind of "water mold" on the bulb. Some people say to rinse it out in cold water and put it back in the tank, some people say to just leave it alone, some people say that if mold grows on it, it means it's dead. So... yeah. I guess I'll just have to see for myself and update this thread when I find out!

Yeah i've seen this before on a feeder block in a tank... I just took it out and everything was okay.
