I believe I have aponogeton crispus (please correct me if I'm wrong) I have had another species of aponogeton in the past that had short small leaves that went straight to the top and also had flowers. But some have flowered which I'm happy about but then what I thought were flower stalks threw out some leaves. I'm not very familiar with them so any advice would be nice.

That plant in the pictures is likely an echinodorus species, Amazon sword. The stalk has adventitious plantlets, and sometimes it will also flower. You should be able to plant the plantlets and grow new plants.

The plant definitely is not an aponogeton species

It did end up being new plants. But these came from those petco bulbs. It ended up seeding as well. Here's when they sprouted. I'm not to versed in plants yet. Currently have these, hornwort, and a ton of bronze c. Wendtii
