Just in case you ever wondered.

Kind of interesting article about how NASA tested the reaction of various creatures to lunar material, incl. fish, birds, moths etc. It doesn't say it in this article but another mentioned the fish were guppies and minnows. The only critters that died were the oysters, but they perished with and without the lunar materials added to their water.

NASA Fed Apollo 11 Moon Rocks to Cockroaches (And Then Things Got Even Weirder)

That said the tests were only for 28 days, a relatively short time in our hobby, who knows what the longer term effects might have been, if any.

Yeah, almost anybody can keep a fish alive 28 days on the world's worst food and barely any of that.
I want to send a bass to the moon and back. ;)

That's good to know. When we get moonbase alpha up and running anybody who wants to keep a fish tank up there dosen't need to lump driftwood and rocks up in the rocket, they can just go for a leisurely stroll on the moon to get some scape for their tank.

Could have done the same test for $1 billion less by going to Hawaii and using their basalts...

Edit: read the article, they were testing for bacteria not to see if the rocks were harmless to life
