Yeah. It's a huge silver diamond-thing. Stingray eyes are small and round and there are always two of them.

Found this picture. My wife helped, too. Looks like Sorel doesn't know what they're talking about or they just didn't read it out loud and realize what they said. The 'eye' is the lump on the back of the ray in the center of its body. So stingrays have two eyes for seeing and one for leather, but they don't have "only one eye surrounded by silvery skin". What a confusing sentence.
