anyone out with any that they might want to sell i cant find any were i live and when my lfs gets them they want $12 is that a rip or just how much they are

That's a rip off. One of my LFS has them, but they are all dead (shells) Not sure what's up with that. They are on aquabid, but the seller never responds to my messages. So... I've resorted to what mystery snails I can find here locally... They're awesome. Not sure how big they get though.
not big enuf only golf ball size i'm looking for one for my 55g and one for both of my friends tanks 265g 180g
if it was a good lfs i would prolly swing up to 6, but should be between 3 or 4 bucks. but most lfs's are crap and there prolly junk snails. well junk snails in a sense, i like pretty much all the snails, almost as much as my fish do.

apple snail is pretty broad. there are many types.
p. bridgesii is the 'mystery snail' get a lil smaller than a golfball
p. canaliculata is the bigger get up to baseball size
m. cornuarietis is the ramshorn get about 3" across
