apple/ myster snails in GT tank, bad idea?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They should be fine as long as you have them quarantined for a bit if they came from a tank with sick fish. They will help eat any little bits of fish food or algae. My ramshorns love any flakes or pellets that get past the rest of the hungry mouths.

Also yeah they might get munched on haha.

They are also one of snails known to harbor rat lungworm, the nematode Angiostrongylus cantonensis.Just something to think about.

I spent some time doing some reading online and while many say it's not coming to pass on diseases there is still some chance that something could be brought into the system. So I decided to not bother.

I am far too attached to my pet gt and don't have another tank. Also, even if I did at the snails for like 2 months how can I be sure they don't have anything at that point?
