They may, as long as they recognize it as food. I tested some snails with some of my cichlids and my rainbow munched on one and ate the whole thing, shell and all.
You could try crushing a snail so the meat hangs out and the fish pick up the scent in the water. If they learn that there is food to be had in the shell, they might learn to eat snail.
Druu, from the sound of his question, he is making sure the apple snail is compatible with the rest, not feed it as a food. Apple snails are very valuable especially the plant eating ones as the plant eaters canot be obtained legally from anywhere except within your state.
