Lakeland, FL.
When I first moved to Florida back in 1995, I didn't know anything about snails. Oh, I've had fish since I was 5, but never snails.

Lakeland, in Central Florida, no Disney here. All we have is a mall, a Wal-Mart and lots of lakes. My three daughters were still very young, so we made it sort of a hobby to picnic on weekends by Lake Parker. I used to pick up Mosquito fish (Gambusia) and Ghost shrimp for my Angelfish.

Well, to make a short story long, one day I found a baseball size Apple Snail. Not knowing what I was dealing with, I took it home and put it in my well planted 55 gal. tank. Needless to say, got up in the morning to find the tank completely cleaned out of all plants. I thought the barber at Marine Corps boot camp had gone through my tank.

She lived for six years in a 20 gal. with Guppies and BNs. Since then I've had Mystery Snails, they don't bother live plants. And ATM, I'm having a Red Ramshorn infestation in two tanks.
