Do Apple Snails multiply? Do you need to feed them or will they survive on stuff in the tank?

I currently have 4 of these snails. Mine havent laid any eggs as of yet, but they are not hermaphrodites, for them to breed you must have a male and female present. Also most of the species crawl up out of the water to deposit their eggs, so if their tank is completely full you will never get baby snails. As far as feeding them, they will eat some algae and leftover fish food, but they will also eat your plants. Mine will eat both my java moss and elodea, although I do give them a piece of cucumber every few days. They dont eat that much as of yet being around an inch in diameter.
