I am having one of these amazing fish shipped out to me on Monday. Anyone here have any exp. keeping this particular knife? Any general advise about keeping this guy as happy as possible.

He will be in a 430g tank with plenty of filtration, 75g overhead filled mostly with ceramic rings, and glass block.Only one tankmate, which will be an Armatus. Tank will be divided to keep them apart untill I am comfortable that they will co-exist. Temp around 82f. Currently no salt in the water as this is on a drip system for 45g. of water changed everyday.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

that seems like an awsome start

should be a great setup, however i have no experiance like you so ill let some knife experts chime in

Sounds like you know what you're doing. Only thing I would suggest is drop the temp down just a little, as these guys are deeper water knives. Also the proper name is Parapteronotus hasemani now (A. Anas was just a misclassification of a male P hasemani). How big is the guy (or girl)? We definitely need some pictures tomorrow.

definitly some pics needed..looking forward to seeing him..great fish.

Sorry, guys. I suffered a major set-back on Monday. The acrylic tank that I was DIY'ing into an overhead was quite brittle and when I flexed it to set up my dividers it shattered. It put me in a spot to where I had to purchase some equipment, and left no money for the fish. Eneded up costing me about $300 to get something up there running intime. And that zapped my fish funds. Man did I feel crappy having to tell Ash that I couldn't get the fish.

Thanks for listening to me whine.
