Be very careful buying on aqua-bid!!!!! A few months ago I purchased a 12" aro from a vendor on aqua bid. I paid for over night live arival guaranteed shipping for $69. Ok, the cost of the fish was 40$ + the shipping. I sent him a money order and once he recieved it he e-mailed me and told me he was going to ship out my aro on monday of the following week. I waited on tuesday for the arrival--guess what --No Package! So I call him. He said it was sent late on monday--ok no problem..Waited for my aro wednesday---No package...I call him again. He says he doesn't know what's going on with it. After a while on the phone he finally gave me the tracking numbers. So thursday I wait--No package!!!! I go to the post office and give them the tracking #.. It took 2 hours before they could locate my package... The post office sorting center put a hold on my package because it was not labled and was leaking!!!!! I understand the post office doing so because of security. I had to go to the sorting center to claim my package. when I got there 3 people in hazmat suits were inspecting my package. When they opened the un-labled box there was 2 pieces of foam and a leaking bag(1 small rubber-band,about 20oz of water in the bag) containing a nearly dead aro. The fish died within an hour of being put in my 180. The packaging was horrible--No labels, single bag with small rubber band, 2 pieces of foam..etc...He spent $35 to ship--Charged me $69!!!! After all of this HE STILL REFUSES TO REFUND ANYTHING:WTF:!!!!! I WOULD ADVISE YOU ALL TO AVOID THE AROWANA VENDOR FROM MILWAKIE OREGON:banhim:!!!!!
ON A LIGHTER NOTE i WAS JUST ON AQUA BID AND HE HAS NO AROS FOR SALE!!! I guess you shouldn't buy aros from a guy who sells only aros and goldfish!!!!

Thanks for the vent,:feedback:
Chris

I jsut hate how some people feel no sense of responsibility or proper morals in business or in general. Sorry about what happened.

Yeah!!? Well you live and learn I suppose. I just got my new aro today!!! Spent a little more than I wanted but he's a healthy 10-12". Got him through my local lfs. I found that is the way to go(at least you can inspect your fish before you buy+guaranteed). I won't make the same aqua bid mistake again!
Thanks for your support,
Chris

If you search the vendor section you can find out who the reputable sellers are. Don't judge all the vendors by the experience you had with 1 of them. I sell on aquabid from time to time and have 100% there. Also just last month I had 3 black aro's shipped and all arived with no issues. They were from a vendor on this forum that is on aquabid also.

I feel your pain though, it bites to get shafted like that.

What kind? Silver I'm assuming. I got a beautiful black for $87 with live arrival guaranteed from snookn21 and everything went smoothly. You just have to be careful from who you order from. So moral of the story I got a better reputable seller, so I got a rarer aro for a cheaper price, and mine arrived alive. Did you check the rating? Make sure the guy didn't fake his rating?

Just checked, you're from MI too, we could have done a group order together for some black aros for only $71 with live arrival guaranteed. BTW why would you buy silver aros online? Silvers are everywhere, I can get a 2-3" and 4-5" for $15- $25 locally. Spending $109 on a silver?

:irked: Wow, that jerk! Sorry for your loss man.

A very discouraging "lesson learned" i guess. I only buy from online sellers i 100% trust who have feedback from people I know haha.
