I just ordered an Aqua clear 110 (never used aqua clear before) to add onto my existing 75 gallon tank which is currently being filtered by an Eheim 2217. I have four Emperor 400s spread out on other tanks. My question is what are the differences that I can expect from the Aqua Clear 110 VS an Emperor 400? Thank you in advance

I have both and I like the aqua clear better. It pumps a lot of water and they are cheaper in the long run cause you dont have to keep buying filter cartridges. Just rinse the foam block and put it back.

I have both also. The AquaClear is more like a canister filter. You can customize what you have in it so easy. Sometimes I put in a layer of poly-fill for fine filtration.

+1 to what everyone has said thus far. I have an AC110, as well as 2 Emperors. The AC moves A LOT more water, is much quieter, and is easily customized to your liking when it comes to media. I'd choose an AC over an Emperor any day...

To be fair, the AC 110 cost almost twice the 400. Is it twice the filter?

Not where I shop.

Petsolutions lists the Emperor 400 at $63.99, on sale for $39.99. The AC 110 lists for $84.99, on sale for $53.99. More expensive, but nowhere near double the price. I've owned both, and the Aqua Clear is definitely worth the extra money.

AQUACLEARS i OWN 9 AND NEXT TO EHEIM THE BEST CANISTERS , WITHOUT A DOUBT AQUACLEARS RULE THE POWER FILTER WORLD, LARGER MEDIA CAPACITY, GREATER FLOW AND QUIEWTER, JUST BE CAREFUL W SAND AND IMPELLARS, PLACE SPONGES OVERINTAKE, AND YOU ARE GOOD TO gO.
