gonna be setting up a 75 gallon tank...just wondering which filter would be better~ i know they are different kind of filters, the rena is a cannister kind....but just hoping to get some views from you guys...

canistor by far for that size tank but i would throw both on it

If you are just going to have one filter...I'd go with the AC110. Reason is that the Rena isn't going to do you much good for bio filtration as it is a "closed" system and doesn't get much O2. The media with the AC110 will get more O2 being a HOB filter for bio and is good mechanical filter as well.

Honestly I would run both on a 75. Set the AC110 up for Bio and the Rena for Mechanical.

I agree with the above. It is always nice to have 2 filters anyway because if one were to fail, you have the other for a backup.

I have a 75g and I use the emp400 for bio and the xp3 for mechanical. I think its the perfect setup for a tank that size.

i persoanly have a fluval 405 on my 75 along with an aquaclear i have a simaliar setup on my 55 dynamite setup water is perfect
