aqua clear filters confused

im confused about how you clean the aquaclean filters do u replace it with all new stuff or do u keep some of the old stuff in it

you keep the sponge and the ceramic rings. sponge should be rinsed and put back into the filter when you clean it out, the ceramic rings should not be cleaned in tap water, just rinse in tank water and placed back into the filter

pull out the media, rinse the sponge, carbon, and biomax bag. They last for a long time. if you think it needs to be replace, then replace one media at a time. not all at once. it helps the new media build bacteria from the old media.

never replace all of your filter media at the same time, and you should just rinse the media inserts in old tank water to clean them, every once and a while you will need to replace an insert, i think its every 3 months(i could be wrong)
but again never replace it all with new stuff at the same time. try to alternate, one month replace the bio chem, next month replace the ammonia, this will ensure that you still have a proper ammount of BB

yea, great filters. I recommend you get 2 sponges and 1 ceramic ring for the filter. What model do you have/interested in getting?
