I have an older AC filter when it was a "300". It's now produced as the "70". The "300" was filtering a glass aquarium. I tried attaching it to my acrylic aquarium. The opening is fine but the 1" lip is too wide and the filter won't hang. When the "70" (and other models) were introduced, did their dimensions change to accomodate wider hang-on areas?

No..... most people use a router/roto zip and trim the tank or use a wet/dry filter.

You might start measuring filters and see if any of them will filt your tank.

I have to use an AC 110 on anything bigger than a 55.

I could trim the aquarium as "repair" recommends, but I'd have to be very careful not to get the shavings in the aquarium water as the fish may eat it !

110 would be the best bet, move more water and not mess with the lip of your tank.

All my 75gal (most are Perfecto) have a 1 1/8" lip on them and an AC110 fits perfectly...
