I have 2 AC 110's on my 75g and the impellar on one is buzzing a lot. I replaced the shaft and the impellar is new. The new impellar is the problem because I put it in both filters and it makes a lot of noise either way. Are there any ways to quiet these things down? Any sort of way to shave off some plastic or any little secrets? Vegetable oil is one thing people say to use, but I'd prefer not to :irked:

Thanks!

iono my vibrated alot and then i noticed the black part that covers the impeller assembly was loose, so i pushed it down and wah lah it was fixe.d

i had that problem with mine, i took an, ''unorthodox route to solve it.'' its not appropriate to post, so PM if u want to know. i don't wish to be flamed this beautiful evening..

lube up the impeller shaft with vaseline...but first make sure you clean out the motor housing and get way down in there...use a qtip...probably just some sand or debris you arent getting at it doesnt take much to make them noisy

yeah even one grain of sand in the ac impeller will make that noise. I would thoroughly clean out the motor and the impeller(removed of course) and rinse the heck out of the port where the impeller fits.
