Aquaclear 30 stopped working?

Today I checked my 10gal tank to find out that it wasn't waterfalling water like it normally does. I tried pouring water into the HOB and then plugging it in, there was no suction. I felt the motor, and it was really hot, not to the point where it'll burn your hands but it was pretty hot. Wthell happend? Anyone have have this problem before?

Probably needs cleaned.

take the motor off, pull the impeller out, clean it very well and put it back together. It's best to clean inside the motor with a cotton swab.

Exactly. Happens to me every once in a while, just clean it out.

Gotcha. But since my filter's been running dry for a few days now, is the bacteria on my bio-media all dried up dead? Do I have to re-cycle my tank again?

If you get it started again (and if you have other tanks) just clean your other filters in your "dead" tank.
It may seem nasty, but it works.

If your filter has been running dry for days, your bacteria is dead. Transfer media from a live tank to instantly recycle.
