Could someone measure their Aquaclear 70 and tell me how wide of a tank trim it will fit on? I have a model 50 but it is too narrow to fit the rim of my tank. I would rather not cut the tank trim to make the 50 fit.
THanks!

AC70 is 1in gap
AC110 is 1.5in gap
Thank you. Does the model 70 set on the top of the trim, or rest on the lower inside lip of the trim?
The is how the 50 sets on the tank. It’s fine except there is no room for the U tube.3FE4FFB8-9638-471B-951F-8C932B22AFD6.jpegE54B9D5D-3B27-4785-B88F-AED4E1C2952D.jpeg

So what size tank are you trying to put this filter on?
The AC70 is designed to fit the 18inW x 4ft L x what ever height tank be it a 75, 90 etc.

The AC110 is designed for 2ftWx4ft L 120s and 18in W x 6ft L 125s.

It should sit lower. Then use the adjustment tab on the bottom to level it off. Mine output "ramp" is at water lever or slightly below. This should fix the U tube issue, if not maybe trim the trim?

The tank is an Aqueon 54 gal. corner tank. I was hoping to use the model 50 on one side and an old school Aquaclear 200 (same as the newer 50) on the other side.

the model 50 also has a 1” gap so this may not work either. The old 200 is even more narrow. From your picture, I don’t think the 70 will fit. The 100 will a bit of an overkill for this tank. A60CEB29-C158-43E1-B576-93E659DC7210.jpeg

Even pushed tight, there still isn’t room for the U tube. I’d rather not cut the trim.EDB96CB4-B118-405A-A0B9-733154AADDBC.jpeg

I would move to the 110, I have one on my 29gal its a beast. Also having the aquaclear filters at there lowest setting cleans water more effectively, another bonus of over filtering. With all the space for media I store extra sponge filters in mine to keep them cycled.

Look at this one. Its has 1 5/16 trim clearance

Thanks! That is a nice looking filter, with some good options. I’ve always been a fan of Aquaclears, but will do some research into the Tidal.
The trim and lip needs 1 1/8” clearance, this will just fit?
