The Seachem Tidals are relatively new to the market. There is a lot of excitement due to some of the options it has, self priming, surface skimming etc. But many don't want to jump from a know bullet proof filter to an unknown longevity wise filter. I have been considering it, but money is tight.

If you really want to use the AC filter, you can gently grind the bit of filter lip that contacts the tank trim unless the intake tube would still be an issue. You would need to assemble the filter and intake tube and double check the measurements before deciding on trimming the filter.

Yeah, seems like mixed reviews on the Tidal. The AC 200 I mentioned above I’ve had for 25-30 years. Granted it hasn’t run for that long, but is well built.

The Tidal self priming is a function of the pump being located under the water line. When the AC doesn’t start up, it needs a cleaning.

I may stick with the AC and slightly modify it, or maybe the tank trim.

The 110 is too wide to fit due to the glass lid. Back to square one.

I used some small files to file down the trim on my 75G to fit an AC 70. You can see one big notch on the left and a small notch on the right in the photo below.
