aquaclear biomax question

hey dudes for those of u who use the biomax in ur aquaclears I was wandering if i should change it I've had my biomax in for around 5 months and it has never been changed I wouldn't see any reason to considering it houses bb but let me know if I'm missing something here

No reason to replace it. At most rinse in tank water(not tap).

I replace about 25% of my biomax every year or so & rinse it often.
