So my filter which i believe is a ac 50-70, was over filling and leaking all over the floor. Flooded my living room. Any ideas why it did this?

My 110 did this when the media was too dirty and the filter was full of gunk.
I just rinsed out the media clean the filter a little and it was back to normal

too dirty for water to flow through it. are ubusing regular media or something else? if you use some media finer than whay it comes with it will clog easier

What's in it for media? Most likely the media is badically full of junk and needs changed. If it gets to dirty it could do this. Blockage or restricted overflow. I haven't seen these filters overflow for any other reasons.

Clean your media. I've had it float up before but never overflow. make sure to use tank water to clean the sponge and rings in, otherwise you will kill all the BB.

I had this happen when it was bumped and wasn't level, and it started spilling over.
Also after a cleaning, when the O ring between the pump and housing wasn't screwed on tight enough, wasn't overflowing, but it appeared to be, until I found the leak

Make sure its level or even sloped toward the tank. This way even if media gets clogged it wont overflow

Shoot last night my ac110 overflow. 5-10 gal on the floor. Sucks. Does anybody recommend using filter floss instead
